Power System Control & Protection Lab

Texas A&M University College of Engineering

Teaching Lab

The teaching lab is located at ZACH 217A and is equipped with computers, power engineering software, and equipment necessary to provide high-grade training and hands-on experience. Lab exercises, homework, and project assignments for courses ELEN 459, ELEN 666, and ELEN 679 are typically done in the lab. The lab is also equipped with various intelligent electronic devices used in modern power stations so that students can get a realistic feel of what to expect in the field. Each computer station is equipped with a low-voltage digital simulator used for experiments and equipment testing under realistic power system conditions.
